Toyota Corolla - 07 2.0 Clanky/knocking diesel when cold - nice but dim
I'm not sure if it is the slight drop in temperature, I mean its not that cool but over the last month or so I've noticed my Corolla's engine knock (if thats the word) for about 5-10 minutes until its warm. Its just on light load and creeping in traffic where its heard - never on the overrun.

Seems fine once I'm cruising on the motorway and at lower speeds once its warmed up. Its just the couple of miles from home to work in the morning and vice versa leaving work where its heard.

Its not running rough and is starts/runs/pulls as expected. I do have a habit of running millers through the tank every couple of month (I do about 20k per year mileage).

Guess its just normal. I cant remember how it was in the winter. Could be the fuel?

Dunno?

Could help if you told us how long you've had it and what's its mileage.

May be an injector problem that could be resolved by removal and clean.

Have you tried a couple of tankfuls of super-duper-high-priced-premium-diesel?
