I remember visiting the Gravelly Hill Interchange (Spaghetti Junction) before it was opened, as part of an evening school trip to see the architectural and construction of it. Quite strange to be able to walk around the Interchange with NO traffic, clamber up the banks, etc. Once on the site, we drove around parts of the Interchange using a 12 seater Landrover and MG Magnette Mk IV - sometimes on the righthand carriageway (something I wouldn't recommend now).
The montage also included shots of the Marina and the BMW Mini - both built outside of the West Mids.
