variable valve timing question - Ateca chris
I bought a mazda 6 2.0ltr petrol 4 months ago and is running perfect to my knowledge. It is the first car iv owned with vvt.so how do i know that side of the engine is working?
would the engine fail to start, run lumpy, pink, rattle or be down on power.
Power delivery seems good but thats because iv come from a 1.6 focus.

This is just a question out of curiosity hoping someone can answer it

VVT tends to work at higher revs, so when you boot it, there should be a noticeable surge in the last 2-3,000 rpm before the red line.

If it pulls all the way to the red line, its working.

Put it like this, you don't know its working, but you will soon know when its not.

Ring its neck you'll know its working then. Then you will have something to compare to when its not :)
