US buyers were given wrong mpg figures and are to be compensated for their losses.

Compensation would never happen in the UK. Why the difference?

The figures issued in the UK and the rest of Europe are not "wrong". They are the only figures that are permitted under EU law.

If you don't like EU law, you shouldn't have voted to remain in the EU.
