In Seattle.
Only a third ? Darwinism!

"Ultimately a shift in normative attitudes about pedestrian behaviour, similar to efforts around drunk-driving, will be important to limit the risk of mobile device use."
Quite!

"Almost one in every three pedestrians crossing the road are using their mobile phone, a US study suggests.
Of more than 1,000 people crossing 20 different roads in Seattle, 10% were listening to music, 7% were texting and 6% were having conversations,
10%+7%+6%=23% or almost 1 in four. Incomplete reporting, journalistic licence, or journalistic innnumeracy?
I can believe it though. I'm amazed at the number of people wandering about with phones clapped to their lugholes. Add on the texters and listeners and I'm surprised it's only a third.
