Quinton Hazell the well known car parts supplier has closed.
Euro Car parts have bought the respected Crosland name from Sogefi Filtration(Coopers, Fram, Purflux) but will potentially be selling any quality filter in a Crosland box as Sogefi won't be supplying them.

Lost count of the number of QH parts I've fitted to cars of all makes over the years. Never had a single problem with any of them. It's a shame they've closed.

Most of those brand names have been bought up by other companies eg Girling is now part of TRW, Borg & Beck part of First Line, Lockheed part of Delphi. The first three in your list are part of Federal Mogul.

>> Borg Warner
I had my first go at driving in their factory grounds, after it'd closed down.

IIRC Borg Warner are now the "Warner" part of Aisin-Warner. The "we're not actually a subsidary of Toyota at all" people who make transmissions.
|
Thanks Chas, the first three on my list earned me more commission than the others:)

They bought Bristol Cars out of administration in 2011 and are apparently going to launch a hybrid supercar

When I was at school this was one of the sights just a few yards off my daily route,
one of many fantastic car makers in my area.
www.frazernash-usa.com/AFN-Factory.htm
The first Porsche was sold in the UK in 1954, by Archibald Frazer Nash (AFN) from premises at Falcon Works, London Road in Isleworth Middlesex
I was by Bristols show room a few days ago and wondered how/why it still looked active and still had cars on display. Now I know.

That's really annoying!
Their online catalogue was a very useful resource as it also divulged the original manufacturer's part number for every component.
Like having access to every manufacturer's parts book in one place. Always handy for finding the right number to bang into eBay to actually buy the part........ah.......right......

Still available on line

Maybe it is worth downloading all the cats for future use? Any volunteers?

42 redundancies at QH Hinckley. Massive warehouse, been there many times. Shame.

IIRC 'Hepolite' was originally the trademark of pistons made by Hepworth & Grandage Ltd. Now there's a name to conjure with.

Their factory near Leeds airport is, so far as I know, still running as AE turbine components.
