It must be a "Campaign" as I can't find it on the VOSA recall website and I didn't receive a recall letter.

My car (a 2010 SW) went in for a service this morning, I was told that the fuel tank straps would be replaced as a "Recall". I can only assume that there must be a problem with them, maybe corrosion?

ON, what engine do you have in yours?

My 2007 1.6 Petrol went to service many times but never recalled. So I guess it is specific to few cars only.

1.6 diesel.

Someone on the kia forum had their car called in by their dealer last week for the job.

My Sister In Law had a problem with her 62 plate C'eed a couple of weeks ago. She was pretty much home when there was a bit of a bang. She came back out to the car a while later to see that it had dumped most of its diesel on the driveway. Sounds like the same issue...

Sounds like a design fault.

You just cant trust those engineers.

Probably forced to use the accountant's braces as tank straps.

I was surprised that the car has a steel tank, the cars I have owned recently have all had plastic ones.

Is the tank itself steel, or just the straps?

Steel tank, new black painted steel straps, with a rubber strip between.

That doesn't bode well for longevity. Still, you'll be shot of it well before that becomes a concern.

I agree, it will be gone well before its warranty runs out.
