I didn't realise the Southampton factory was formerly used for Spitfire assembly. I wonder if that legacy will save any of the site for posterity?

Note that no Ford vehicles are now assembled in the UK by this American company. Hardly a 'British' manufacturer then, not that that seems to matter to fleet buyers any more.

Good timing from Top Gear then, to devote half an episode to messing about in a fairly new Transit this week - ensuring the British-built van will be seen on the world's TV screens for years to come.

If it was cheaper I might live on Evoque.... maybe it has comparable costs to BMW 520d next year. Who knows what costs are this far in advance.
