The Law of Sod - Robin O'Reliant
So, Tuesday morning the scrappie came to collect mrs RR's dying Astra. Having the same model myself I very cleverly removed all the light bulbs as spares for my own. No flies on this kid. Had a look at the three year old battery, decided not to bother as it was just a standard one and mines heavy duty and powering everything as it should and it will probably outlast the car. Besides, I'd only forget to keep it charged and it would die a natural death sitting unloved in the garage so waste of time removing it. Logical thinking, what?

This morning in a village in the middle of the back end of nowhere near anywhere I turned the key to drive off and.............

.......a push start to get me going, a drive to a friendly garage and fifty cigarette vouchers later I'm on my way with a brand new set of AA's or whatever they are.

Ah well, I've at least got a tupperware box of used bulbs in the shed.

I feel your pain. When it went bang I bet the last car I scrapped was the only one in the yard with 13 months' MoT.
