Not quite that fast!

That was a pretty good aim - I thought it was going to go well wide of the ship on our left.

You know it isn't going to travel far once it's out the water, but I still wouldn't want to stand in front of it with a camera

Not un-like my wife's attempts at parking in the supermarket car parks.

In spite of the viral video it was no accident, intention was to beach her so as to facilitate scrapping.

Cannot remember if I've used her, we use SeaFrance for ages then Norfolk Line/DFDS with just odd P&O when they were (unusually) cheaper.

A day trip is being had later this month on P&O (£23 return with 6 bottles of wine free) and we're outbound on one of the new ships, Pride of GB I think.

Sounds good - that and a few other offers here:

The only thing I remember about that vessel were the highly odoriferous heads!

I must begrudgingly admit that it is handy to have a geek around the place. :-)

I travelled on PoC around '93/94 on the way to St Tropez for family holidays. Cant remember much about it apart from the awful smell on the car decks.

Haven't a clue if I ever travelled on it but it seems perfectly possible. The beaching clip is quite a spectacle though, especially the original head-on shot with the other two ships being jostled a bit. I was hoping for some vibration at least from the bridge shot, but ships are so huge and wobbly... Perhaps proper sound was what was lacking. I bet there were some good banging, graunching and screeching noises, but we didn't get them.

Ships are well known to smell terrible here and there and I've never in a long life been on one that didn't. It's always been like that. The ballast and bilges in a wooden three-master, with the crew quite often relieving themselves not over the side, which could be dangerous in rough weather, but in comfortable corners... Just ask ON.
