Do not panic!

Iranian petrol went from 9p / litre to 16p - must be tough paying 72p a gallon!!!!

Petrol is very cheap in Nigeria too, but there's a big population and a lot of people are poor. Hence the desperate behaviour with the pierced petrol pipe down there in the delta.

I am here (Iran) at the moment.
No cars are diesel.
You get 100 litres of petreol a month subsidised to 16p/l.
Drivers are issued with a chip&PIN card and after that 100l you have to pay 24p a litre or borrow someone's who doesn't drive much.
Most cars run CNG gas and the price of that is 11p/Kg.

Maybe people will now moderate their disgraceful driving styles because of the new prices. (I hope so) It is funny for about a week.
