I wont post the link as its on HJ's site, but Perodua are to stop importing cars to the UK.

Apparently they only sold 122 motors here last year

By 2019 Stu will have owned 113 of them.

Which sort of reminds me. Apparently we have new neighbours renting the house opposite. I must pop over and find out if they're Romanian.

They'll be sadly missed. Not.

20-odd years ago I did a road test of a Sao Penza, imported from South Africa. I wonder what happened to them?

"Perodua Malaysia has committed £1.2m to ensuring there is parts and servicing availability for existing customers for the next eight years"

Couldn't you just buy two and keep the donor in the garage?

You could but it does lead to the phrase...

What's worse than a Perodua....

That would not go very far in routine maintenance items let alone one off accident repair type parts. Is that number only for the UK or the world ?

Not much cop, were they? The first ones around here had under-bonnet labelling in Malay, Minyak for Oil, for example. Nostalgia was not enough to persuade me to buy, even though I had worked on a Minyak estate and was Secretary to a Minyak Club.

Ironically the Myvi wasn't a bad car - basically a Daihatsu I think. The importers must have been stupendously incompetent in their marketing.

Was over the magical 120g/km CO2 = death for small cars with no existing market.

Honda shot themselves in the foot with the previous Jazz only managing 123 or so.
