The 'eejit biker' thread has reminded me that a lot of fixed cameras have been decommissioned in the last 2-3 years (certainly round here). I would be very interested to know if this has affected the accident rate, given how much they were supposed to have improved matters when they were working...

I do hope so, as we have a large offshore one proposed off the Needles. If it goes ahead, I will run a book on the first collision with a tanker or container ship.

Thanks, CGN - much appreciated. Interesting that some authorities are no longer keeping records since the cameras were switched off. It wouldn't do to have comparative data, would it..? :-)
