Fancy a change of vehicle?

I'll take the T55, the sovs know how to make a tank look pretty and I have room for it in the garden. I could attend the annual rally in red square.

A garage at the end of the Hutton by-pass into Preston, which dabbled in used cars, had one for sale many years ago.

Quite a sight to see it being driven around the Penwortham area, presumably on test drives..:-)

You'll need some specialised boots to see out of that !

Stephen Morris the drummer from New Order lives up that way and he's a keen collector of military vehicles. He'd have had enough money to buy sufficient to equip a small army had they not wasted it all on the Hacienda.

There used to be a place on the A29 that sold garden sheds and the odd interesting vehicle. Two that I found strangely tempting were an open-topped desert Unimog, and a wood-fired narrow-gauge steam shunting locomotive for £20,000... I had some money at the time and was sorely tempted, but the thought of building track for it put me off. Always been dead idle like that.

Idle? No! You had a valaiety. Which means a whim, too minor to be acted upon. Either I can't spell or there are some dud on-line dictionaries 'cos I can't find it.

Velleity... a word more used by the French than us. So that was what I had was it?

It would have been, given the clearing of a substantial hurdle or two, just about physically and technically possible, although not financially probably. With a thing like that though you have to decide whether it's what you want to do for the rest of your life. It isn't, usually.

Thanks AC. My mother used to say "don't use words you can't spell". Now I can spell it ;-)
