The local media reported that the police had charged the driver of the van blown over on the FRB as it was only open for cars at the time, not sure what he was charged with. The FRB is on a cars only restriction at the moment.

My roof tiles were rattled on Thursday night, no damage, and much calmer now.

Still blowing a hooley here. Friend up north reports flights still being diverted/cancelled at Leeds Bradford Airport but that's a pretty exposed spot.

Quite pleasant here in Cheshire. Wee bit windy but sunny and fresh.

My car is totally bogging. Might have to wash it. I suppose it's due for it, I don't think the clocks had gone back the last time it was done and it's done at least 10,000 miles since.

got no local immigrants car wash nearby?
Limesquare Maxiload - moving made easy - Runfer D'Hills
Costs money that.

Aye, wait for the rain.

Mine got a courtesy wash this week when it was serviced. First sine the autumn.

Well, I've just washed it. Looks quite posh now. I sort of feel a bit obliged to shave and put on some clean jeans before I drive it.

Jeans! At your age :-0)

Hardly ever wear anything else, on my legs that is ! Cargos on the bike, shorts in the water but good jeans for more or less everything else that doesn't involve someone being dead or getting married.

Have to remember to tell the dealer not to wash it. Pressure washer nadges up the cameras in the door mirrors for a week, don't you know.

Hmm that bodes well for the system in heavy motorway spray - just when you need them most.

Mirrors and cameras, very posh. Are the cameras for people who don't know how or can't be bothered to use mirrors? :)

Not at all, I am (just) young enough for my head to move and even look over my shoulder if necessary. My car has a reversing camera, I prefer to use the mirrors for reversing.

Boasting about a Yaris, do me a favour. :)

A reversing camera is a toy for the incompetent unskilled driver.

And it doesn't work very well when the lens is dirty or wet.

I'm finding mine's pretty useless in this weather. When I'm reversing I'm either looking out the back, or in the mirrors. Having to look at the centre of the dash ain't helping. I think reversing sensors would be much more useful.

I have one. Not keen but I can get the perfect park between lines (OCD) and just get the right distance betwixt the car behind. Other than that mirrors are my preferred option.

What tosh. Like any other tool i has its uses. If it helps someone to reverse safely what's the problem? If the lens is dirty then clean it.

Exactly.
