Wall socket to car socket adaptor - SteelSpark
I have a tyre inflator which I would like to use for other household inflation tasks (behave!).

Trouble is that it only has a 12v/cigarette lighter power supply. I am trying to find an adapter that will let me plug it into a standard wall socket.

Haven't found one so far. Does such an adapter exist?

Dunno. I took the other approach, and got a 240v pump for paddling pools, etc., that could run off a small inverter. I *still* don't know why cars don't have a 3-pin socket in 'em!

In that case people will plug their electrical appliances on car (may be un/intentional) which will blow up the fuse and can even cause fire hazard.

550mA is just over half an amp-about the same as a sidelight bulb takes.
