I know how the owners feel.
One evening my Ford Cortina Crusader was stolen almost before my eyes.
I was only a few hundred feet away and there it was gone.
Twelve hours later it was reported found just a few miles away.
The whole inside, absolutely every thing, had been carefully removed.
The wheels were not touched. It was of course a write off.
BiB said they had a good idea who was to blame, it was found next to a housing estate.
The objective was to upgrade a low rent version of the same shell.

Colleague at a previous company came down to his 328i one morning to find the leather-covered seats had been removed. Mind you, he did live in Slough.

I must live in a Neighbourhood Watch area. All the thieves round here were disturbed before they could take more than the badges.

Didn't this sort of thing use to happen regularly to Golf GTi bumpers? Some owners ended up welding the fixing nuts on.

Just a few miles up the road in Iver, a colleague had his Nissan Primera stripped in the office car park in broad daylight. Returned to his car to find it on blocks, with the wheels, front wings, both front doors, bonnet, grille, headlights and front bumper gone.

It's a lovely area.

Nissan Primera? How long ago was this? Where I work the Germans used to come in the night and drop bombs on it. Does that make it a rough town?

This would have been around 2000-2001 time

I still know people who live there. It isn't any better nowadays.

There is a particular sump that they're after as well....not easily sourced other than from working models. Red-top engines.

Yes. There was an article on a Wales only Consumer programme with a rather distressed Minister whose engine was de-frocked so to speak. Being Wales I actually met him at a funeral down south !
