 Overturned crane - Bobby
Any ideas how this might have happened?
Looking at how it has landed would suggest it has rolled 270 degrees from the other lane of the A83.
Would have thought these would be rather bottom heavy and without a raised crane, should have been immovable on the road unless it was driven up a sloping verge or something?

Looks as if it did roll right over from the other side of the road.

But I don't think those things are bottom-heavy. They have hydraulically powered extensions to give them a broad base and round feet planted on the ground on either side, for when the crane is in use with jib erect. On the road they must be quite top-heavy in fact.

I don't see any road damage or evidence of skidding behind it. Nothing says it was in motion when it went over does it? Maybe it was doing something across the road with the crane bit and they have retracted it (or cut it off or something) before the pic was taken?

You can see the telescopic boom and sheave block in the travelling position with the hook attached to the front of the vehicle.

They are top heavy on the road. There's a heavy counterweight too.
