Actually if you've never driven a car with a delayed throttle response - don't, it's horrible.
For a period I owned a TD5 Landrover which had a throttle you could fully depress and release without anything happening to the engine speed. As a complete counter-point, the Morgan 4/4 I had at the same time had both accelerator pumps on the throttles and a lightweight steel flywheel. You could blip the throttle on that about 10 times in the time the Landrover took to do it once.
But what idiot buys a new Porsche? Any fool knows the best is the 1973 911 Carrera and possibly the early 911 Turbo although that model also puts a new meaning on lag...
