 What's that car? - tyrednemotional
My wife is currently filing some of her dad's old photos from the 40's and 50's, so I've been playing a game of "identify the car".

Not as easy as it might otherwise be, as he was definitely a foreign car buff, and my knowledge of such (at that time) is not great.

The 1950ish Fiat Topolino wasn't too difficult, but the late 30's Renault Celtaquatre Cabriolet was another kettle of fish.

Comme ci (though not the actual car, of course):

Never heard of it, though wouldn't mind one now (or the Topolino for that matter).

Yeah, it's a beauty and very rare. Hope it sounds as good as it looks.

I hope Zero doesn't win the lottery and buy it. He'll have it into a bus in no time.

It has a dickey seat and two footholds for climbing into it over the rear wing. Charming, charming jalopy that one in its flash froggy way.

...in the picture I have, the dickey seat is occupied by a pram (SWMBO, for the use of)

;-)

Knowing nothing about them previously, I now really covet the one on this page:

You wouldn't want to rely on any of them. But the one I fancy most is the red and black 1936 cabriolet.

...and now, at further picture of him driving a BSA 3-wheeler in 1930.

(I can't say I covet that one, though).
