That's the trouble with cars.
Some numpty at an auction can't keep his hand still and ends up bidding and pushing up the price of a fairly ordinary old car.
Now anyone with an old Ford suddenly hikes the price up and thinks he's in with a chance of the big time selling his old crock. It just makes these types of car unaffordable to the likes of me! :-(
I'd quite like one of these but at this price...not a chance!

Course, 60 big ones is a lot of bread to thee and me NoNameMan, but to some it's mere loose change in the back pocket.
If I'd paid more attention to the ole Strat when I was younger, and played the guitar on the MTV, I'd buy the Escort TC AND the 2.8i Capri.

That would actually be 54,000 coins

It's a very nice Capri though. A 2.8 or 3 litre Capri with proper suspension is a rapid, safe but very fun machine I would imagine. Not for children of course.
One hopes the bushes and so on have all been renewed. A car that old with so few miles must be pretty stiff in the joints. Worth every penny if it's your sort of thing though.
One supposes there won't be any treacherous hidden rusty seams.

I've owned the 3 litre jobbie, but the 2.8i is something else. I used to wipe an oily rag over one belonging to a photographer who's studio was in a rather-nice part of Kennington, so I always took it out afterwards to give it the beans :o)
