Listening to the recording it sounds like the neighbour was complaining about the helicopter!

Wonder if the pilot reported it too, or if the Police investigation was prompted by the neighbours call?

I watched one of those helicopter emergency programmes a while ago and a resident berated the doctor for allowing the helicopter to land near her house in the middle of London. She took his address and said she was going to make a complaint!

'Endangering an aircraft' is an interesting charge.

It's usually used for a drunken, boorish holidaymaker who causes an in-flight punch-up.

It was also used for this drunken driver who went hurtling down the runway:

Don't people make some sort of effort regarding appearance when they appear at court these days?

It takes a lot more than a drunken incident on board an aircraft to support a charge of endangering, besides which, there are 2 different 'endangering aircraft' charges. One 5 years max, the other, life. In any case, he's got to be pretty daft to grab the skids of the heli, every chance he could have got himself chopped up if the pilot hadn't handled it so well.

What are the rules of where a helicopter can land "to pick up passengers" ?

Exactly what I was thinking,
Obviously what he did was unbelievably stupid and very, very dangerous,
but the Helicopter was on a private flight and I can just imagine the noise and debris whooshing about.
I'll wager its not the first time either.

He looks a tad smarter too in his whistle & flute, although he still looks like he's been on the job all night.

BBC
"The court heard how Jafari grabbed one of its skid bars as the pilot tried to take off".

The Sun
