Brilliant, clearly modified to suit, but what a blast.
Something the Yanks do to perfection, but nice to show "anything you can do .."

These taxis have a legislated lifespan, so good vehicles can be bought for not much moolah whan their time is up.
I considered buying one some time ago, as a counter against not being able to drive anywhere flat out, (recent discussion with legacylad), but not wanting to stand in line with the crowd.

Didn't happen, (went another route) - can i remember Stephen Fry (?) doing a round Britain trip in an ex-cab ?

Incidentally, the next clip in the sequence features Paul Swift. Would he be the son of Russ Swift, probably the man who defined "car control" ? (and reverse parking !!)

Did a lot of filming in the states driving a cab.

Amazing what one gets used to. Was on the street with some friends here 15-odd years back, and they were all pointing and raving... I couldn't work out what they were looking at.
Oh, a black cab! Old hat to me, but an amazing sight for them.

The Black Cab Stephen Fry toured the States in was not his own. One is not allowed to import such things. They had to find and convert one that was already in Country.
