Daftest Ever Car Names - Robin O'Reliant
No matter how good it might or might not be, I could never see myself standing at the bar and boasting that I owned a Ssangyong Rextor.

It sounds like a character from Hitch Hikers Guide to The Galaxy or a Bond villains bit of fluff.

When hiring a car in Madeira I thought the lady behind the desk said

"You can always have a helicopter".

What she really said was

"You can always have a Renault Captur"

...and there is also the optimistically named "Rapido" motor caravan, which we see many of on the German autobahns!

Armstrong Siddeley Hurricane? It wasn't.
Austin 7 Chummy?
Pontiac Firebird?
Singer Porlock?
I'd prefer to stick with initials or numbers.
Mind you, I've always thought 'Accord' sounds friendly...

Nissan Cedric. Apparently to the Japanese, Cedric sounds really nice, and that is the grounds behind quite a few of Japanese cars.

Blame Walter Scott. He invented the name Cedric.

People who want to end it all leap off his monument in Edinburgh. They pass in full view of Jenners dept store on the way down. Fair flusters the customers if they're mid way through a cream tea.

Not anywhere near as many who jump off the Forth Road Bridge.

Approximately 20-25 per year (over 1000 since it opened) - of whom 3 are known to have been successfully rescued from the water.

Not reported generally in case it encourages more copycats.

Same goes for people walking in front of trains.

I'd have thought that figure would be higher Lyganos if I'm honest. I suppose 2 a month is pretty bad though!

I once got held up by over 6 hours on a train because of a suicide on the line up ahead. And the train journey was 6 hours! A long journey spent on a train full of Scottish rugby supporters (we'd been playing Scotland that weekend). I felt sorry for them - they had to get onwards from Manchester to Scotland! And we were severely delayed.

My CA friends have several cars... 5 at the last count ( Outback, Golf estate, Scion, Toyota Tundra ute, Toyota Sienna)
The latter is called 'Pearl'... And one night recently after too many spliffs sitting around the fire pit I asked my friend if her hubby had bought it for himself instead of buying her a nice necklace.
She is a VERY broad minded CA girl and found it quite funny.
Apologies for slight thread drift & lowering the tone

'CA' to me means a Scottish chartered accountant.

There's something about your post, LL, I don't quite know what, that doesn't quite sound like Scottish chartered accountants.....

I have a friend who is a Scottish chartered accountant. He is, or was anyway, also a very enthusiastic rugby player and committed hedonist.
