Are car shapes 'trademarked'? - Old Sock
With more and more mainstream cars beginning to look the same, how close can a manufacturer make their offering resemble another marque's?

Just curious, really - are model shapes 'trademarked' in any way?

Could, say, a Chinese manufacturer produce a car that looked identical to a MINI - but badged 'Hu Flung Dung' or similar?

Do the Chinese already do this with a RollsRoyce, and im sure Rattle mentioned before about a Fiat Panda?

Copyright on Shape is 15 years after cessation of manufacturer.

Hence the AC, Porsche lookie-likies made from Fibreglass and an old Sierra, Beetle etc
