So they seriously think that some city taxi licensing authority is going to ok driverless cabs in the next 4 years? Yeah right

This is being used as a threat to drivers, nothing more

24,000 x say £30,000 each would be £720,000,000.

Uber are loss making. I doubt it will ever happen.

You missed "to buy up to 24,000" i.e. 24,000 is the maximum.

Volvo drivers!
Arrogant, think they own the road, park carelessly, never stop for pedestrians. Women are the worst!

Somehow I don't think you'll be getting a Pat on the back for those views Cliff

The interesting bit in the Uber statement was how their model doesn't really work if they need to employ drivers!

I don't care! I sit there like Lady Muck on my lovely heated seat, with my hands on my heated steering wheel while my windows defrost themselves.

I pull up and tell it to parallel park and it does, it stops for pedestrians even if I haven't seen them, it keeps within the white lines and mysteriously my phone talks to me from the dashboard, it books in for a service all by itself and asks me when I want it but best of all....it plays a Nuns Chorus whenever I get close to anything:)

I've driven some knackered old yard shunters, some useless old grey tractors and a wide selection of bangers in my time and now I don't have to do anything!
