I can remember him putting the wind up Mark Evans (of a car/helicopter/plane/bike is born) when he test drove Mark's rebuilt E-Type Jag.

I think Mark's words were something like "remind me never to take the pee out of old drivers ever again"

RIP Norman.

I've read many articles and interviews of Norman and he sounded like a real character. Not only was he a superb test driver and development engineer (he worked on development of disc brakes), he had a wicked sense of humour.
