That guide price looks optimistic to me, but all it needs is two determined bidders.

That old and only 6 stamps in the service book? Wouldn't touch it with a bargepole. :-)

£45,000 to £55,000.....

Jaw drop time. I don't even fancy one!

Look at the state of the spare tyre!!

Thought they could have given it a clean up and applied some tyre dressing to it.

Looks like the old tyre dressing thats gone off. I think they call it 'patina' :)

Lovely original example without doubt. There are those that say the Sunbeam handled better than the Escort in its time. 'A wheel on every corner'.

Did you notice that the little plastic wotsit supposed to sit between the spare wheel and the retaining bolt is missing?

Also the trim around the centre console doesn't fit properly.

They mats are surprisingly worn.

I wonder why there is corrosion on the manifold.

Picky stuff to be sure, but stuff I'd want to know about on a £50,000 Talbot.

And the tickover is 50 RPM above the recommended factory spec. :))

Your in full concourse judge mode today.

I did think it was a high tickover, and was going to go back and look what warning lights were on while it was ticking over, but I forgot.

I was dealing with auditors this morning. It always makes me crabby.

Well it's in a whole lot better condition than the bog standard Sunbeam my mate used to have.

He affectionally named it the Talbot shed. Could park it anywhere and not give a stuff about it. Often left at the open air carpark at Didcot Parkway train station while he commuted to London via train for the day. Come back to it and not worry about another scrape or door ding. Use it to collect timber, and such like from the local builders merchants. etc etc. Said it was the best car he ever had.

When I was working we had an auditor from the parent company in Middle East for a week who was reputed to be a bit of a nasty character. He was as difficult as expected until his spectacles mysteriously disappeared....and he was blind as a bat without them.
Our finance director was not just clever with numbers.... :0)

Friday's lunchtime weather forecast on BBC1 had the weatherman describing 100mm of rain as a metre!

Certainly not the first time 4 inches has been described as somewhat longer....
