 Road works - Zero
So there we are, tootling along the M27 west from Pompey, and the advance road warning sign appears, then the big temp 50 signs. We all slow down. Nothing. The Big temp NSL sign appears, we all Start to speed up, then the cones appear shutting off one lane and we all zoom through the roadworks at 70.

Sounds about right, HE aren't exactly on the ball with signage and overhead gantry messages.

Roadworks moved on, or planned to move on, signage out of kilter.

Stuff happens.

Yeah but you move the signs before you move the cones cos workers are in the road doing it. Must be 1.x on the RA / safe working instructions

Yes Stuff would happen

We regularly go down to a place near Pompey and try to avoid the M3/M27 while the longterm roadworks are underway. I agree warning signage is often poor and accidents and delays are common. Instead we peel off to the A272 at Winchester and pick up the fully dualled A3 at Petersfield.
The A272 isn’t the local secret it once was as satnav had grown. However it is quite free flowing and pretty. I doubt we save any time in practice but it’s more relaxing and reliable.
