 Brake disc wear. - FotheringtonTomas
Went to National for a tyre change. They recommended disc replacement due to some minor unevenness across the disc surface. Pffft! I will fit new pads in due course, though.

I had the same the other week, although this was from an MoT inspector. My OSR disc got noticeably scored last winter and he said he'd have failed it under the old rules. It must have satisfied the criteria for braking effectiveness, so he put it down as an advisory.

This is the same chap who's done three previous tests on my car, and has offered commonsense opinions on items the dealer wanted to replace immediately (such as the rear number plate!) so I'm inclined to act on his advice to change this disc as soon as possible.

At the last MOT I had the rear discs (plus pads, of course) changed because the disc thickness had reached the manufacturer's recommended minimum.
