I know that if you drive a run flt tyre some distance when totally flat you have to buy a new tyre.

However if it loses pressure (say a nail through the tread) but you don't drive it flat and are able to get it pumped up and drive it to the tyre shop - can you then do a repair?

"Both Bridgestone and Michelin have stated that their RFT's can be repaired if the tyre is not damaged, just like a standard tyre."

Yes you can get some wind in it and drive on to garage or use a spare wheel if you have/can be bothered.

The runflat is designed so to not pop off the rim and will get you safely to a garage.
