We have a foot of snow at the moment with more forecast.

I have just received a text message from a local car dealer saying that they have deals on immediately available 4X4's.

I have a friend with a tractor. :-)

But don't want or need a Chelsea version.

Someone locally has been pedalling subaru imprezas like they're going out of fashion. Old style ones, there were never this many around before the snow.

Still, plenty of worse cars to be surrounded by, i love the exhausts when they're not overdone :-)

They'd have to come back in to fashion first. Perhaps they've all migrated north of the border.

Well, 4wd didn't help this guy much.

Accident on the A95 Autobahn south of Munich. Driver got out uninjured after losing it on the snow and stuffing his Audi S6 into the central reservation.

If only he'd had his winter tyres fitted...

A sturdy pair of Autosocks might also have saved him.

I see the car is signwritten, looks like something Audi is sponsoring.

You could fit my knowledge of German on the back of ein cigaretten packet. :)

You can't use snow socks on the Autobahn - maximum 40km/h.

The driver is a skiing commentator who appears on telly here and the car was a gift from his sponsors, the organisers of the Skiing World Championship 2011, hence the sign writing. I guess he isn't famous enough to qualify for a free car without the sign writing. Bet his sponsors are pleased though. According to the press it was an S6 with every possible extra and a list price of 90,000 Euros.

I bet Herr David Vine is jealous.

Quite possibly, Iffy - especially since the last (in every sense) motor vehicle he travelled in had two doors and very long side windows.
