Had the pleasure of 9-days and 900 miles behind a 2009 Australian-built Camry recently, rented thru' Hertz. I really expected the Camry to show-up the shortcomings of my 2010 Kia Cerato 2.0 that I bought new back in July. It didn't! It's bigger of course, with a 2.4 litre petrol engine and 4-speed auto, but any extra power over the Kia is lost. It was totally gutless going uphill, dropping into second and shrieking away but not going very fast. Probably a great soft cruiser on empty, straight Aussie roads but I can see how/why it'd be whipped by the Mondeo in the UK.

All-in-all a very sterile experience, but hey at least it had new tyres on it :-)
