Ok the majority of you are aware of the new requirements in relation to SORN of an uninsured vehicle.

Just published are the immobilisation , removal, disposal of such vehicles and which will take effect from 16th May 2011.

Thanks for the reimder; pfd, the penny has dropped that this presumably applies to me, my lovely Vectra has 3 months tax on it, but I've not renewed the insurance in the short term (ran out last week), to save money. The car is off the road but I assume I now have to SORN it even though I have valid tax.aaaaaaagggggggghhh

At least you'll get some of the road tax back... makes sense to SORN it. Unless you were going to reinsure before the three months were up.

Depends on getting a job really, TBH can't see that happening anytime soon so may as well SORN. Just extra hassle I didn't need and I don't see why I should have to SORN when it's taxed but off the road, but that's a debate we've already had I guess.
