How do they collect payment? Some sort of ANPR system with direct debit?

My fuel cap is attached to the car with a bit of rubber. Might confuse it a bit.

Also a bit slower than doing it yourself!

I was a little surprised to see, while filling er up with Tescos standard stuff,, a lady carefully measuring out doses of Redex to add to her tank.

To this day I can hear in my head my dad saying "4 shots and 4 please" to the attendant. ( Then handing over a pound note and saying "Keep the change"...)

Usual place i fill up with LPG does it for you, but i've found another cheap site on the way to my new job and the other day filled it meself for the first time, despite being well used to air lines the sudden pressure release and propane spray back was a bit unnerving the first time...fair bit of hand pressure required to push the release collar in.

As the grey vote are being made to work longer, why don't the petrol stations employ them to fill tanks instead. It would be cheaper than millions of pounds of technology, and would keep them active. After seeing the "robot" in action I think Derby and Joan would be even quicker.

At least you could blame it for filling your hairdresser spec roofless fireball XL superzoom with diesel.
