Tyres - Run Flat Tyres on none run flat car - Bazza1603
Hi,

Just got some 2 x snow tyres ordered, but have noticed that they are listed as Run flats. Would using them on standard vaxuhall 16 rims for a Zafira cause a big issue?

Thanks

Barry

I read somewhere run flats should not be put on rims which usually take ordinary tyres.

Not sure if run flat snow tyres are any different.

Run-Flat snow tyres? What are they branded? "Michelin Paranoids"?

:-)

Ha hA....

They are BRIDGESTONE BLIZZAK

I see the issue is hard ride and the lack of a warning system to say your air has gone...

Won't make any difference as long as the tyre specs match what you need, e.g. a 205x55/16J.

We had Blizzak LM-18s, really good in the rain and brill on icy surfaces. Ground clearance is a problem before grip on snow.

Spot on Skoda. Two of the best "snow" cars I've ever had were a Mk1 Panda ( high ground clearance ) and a Xantia ( pump it up to top suspension setting if it was grounding )
