Mmm nice. Has a vaguely Aston Martin-ish look about the front.

I like the front / front threequarter view, but I think the back is just a little too droopy for my liking. To me its reminiscent (though less extreme) of the Focus CC rear.

>> the Focus CC rear.
Not worried about that. It'll all be fixed when they do the gentleman's version ( estate )...
Ford - Mondeo - 1st pic of new model - PeterS
Of course! The current Mondeo estate is far better looking then the hatch/saloon (do they still do a saloon?), though it is quite large...

Only for not very senior Masons...

"Packed with what Ford describes as "must-have technologies", including lane assist, a blind spot warning system, adaptive cruise control and automatic parking"

Must have? proof if it was ever needed that Americans cant drive.

However on the whole I look the look - a lot.

I must applaud the writer of that article. No where does it mention the words 'agressive styling'.

A better looking derivative of the current Mondeo.

I do smile a bit when Ford talks of World cars. They have had 'world' cars before but they were different in different markets. They'll do that again.

Nice car, could be our next choice after the Focus.

If it's longer than the current Mondeo, which is already as long as a weekend with the in-laws in Nuneaton, isn't there a real danger that the back end will set off just in time to meet the front coming back?
Ford - Mondeo - 1st pic of new model - Dutchie
That could be a problem the way I park.>:) Nice motor do.

Certainly a nicer looking Mondeo than the current version, but just too darn big.

It looks like someone who has eaten all the pies has jumped on the roof and squashed it, making it fat at the bottom.

Just as a lickle aside, I notice, over the years, that a lot of reg.nos. on publicity shots and tv ads are reversible...like the white Mondy.

Is this so they can flip the picture for a drivers side and still have the number making sense ?......101 WHV

They probably add a image of a licence plate to the photo/film later on to suit whatever market they are displaying the images to.

I assume that the picture in the DT Article was taken in Detroit (or where ever that car was built) so instead of havving a array of licence plates and take hundreds of different pictures, it will be added in later to send to the country of orgin for whoever requests the picture.

I would assume ( I might be wrong of course)

BBD has shopped a few.

Although it looks a bit like a heavy facelift of the current model, I think it looks really good (look at the Laguna as a comparison. Actually, no, don't).

I think that the car looks just like a smaller Aston Martin Rapide, and it certainly looks more like an Aston than the sad Cygnet.

My name ish Bond... Premium Bond.

I've not got anything on Ernie for a bit... waiting for April to get another ISA. So don't mention NS&I.... which comes to think of it has staff based in Glasgow... come the split that office would close of course. Lots of Scottish out of work.

As for the car... I liked the Titanium X variant in Casino Royale.... and then went off it when I could get one. They were also a bit pricey when they came out for company car schemes.... and ours dropped them.

In real world figures, my VW CC costs me less per month now than a Mondeo Ghia/Titanium was going to cost in 2007! The Mondeo might be better handling but was poorer spec.

Seems I'm a member of the TalkFord forum, and they sent this link to pics of the new Mondy.

No radical changes as far as I can see.

I got the email too... didn't realise I was a member of there although I did sign up to a Mondeo related forum once.

As an owner of the current Mondeo i don't think the new one is very much different. It looks like a Aston Martin from the front and and an Audi A6 from the back and the traditional Mondeo in the middle!.

The interior doesn't do anything for me.
Ford - Link to pics of the "new Mondeo" - rtj70
I too think it mostly looks the same apart from new lights at the rear and the Aston Martin inspired grill.

The interior looks better in my opinion.

I think it look really good from all angles, the Aston Martin look is superb.

Now what is this going to do to sales of Aston Martin? Would you really want to drive around in a mondeo look alike if you had spent 100k pounds?

There are people dim enough to drive around is this re-badged Toyota iQ and think it is an Aston Martin! Makes a Mondeo look really good!

"The Aston Martin Cygnet is a 3-door hatchback marketed by Aston Martin beginning with model year 2011 as a rebadged variant of the Toyota iQ. The Cygnet enables Aston Martin to comply with the European Union-imposed fleet average emissions regulations taking effect in 2012."

AM expect to sell 4000, mainly to existing or new AM owners.

What that means is they can sell them cheap, far less than the 30k list price (even give them away?) , as part of a deal with a new AM.

Parking Distance Control - is that where you wind down your window and reach behind you to feel the object you're about to hit?

That was my thoughts so I included PDC in the details :-)

IMO Reverse into a parking slot and when the nose of your car is level with the adjacent ones you are OK ?

Iwas in Walton on Thames today approaching HWM - the Aston dealers when an Aston Cygnet came towards me the reg was something like CY06NET.
On my return trip past the new bridge site I glimpsed the Cygnet hiding behind the large ranks of its grown up brothers. Now they really were a sight for sore eyes.
