An ancient and very rusty Transit full of (apparently) East Europeans crested a canal bridge near here at speed recently. The driver hadn't seen the bridge at all. It took off, and when it landed the owner of the adjacent lock cottage came out look for the cause of the bang. The engine was literally lying in the road.

Its a good job speed bumps weren't invented 40 years ago, a few rusty cars would have the front struts through the bonnet.

I'm half way through removing the Jowett engine, that way looks a lot faster but I think I'll carry on with spanners and me trusty 2 ton trolley jack !

I'm part way through dismantling a Triumph 2000 for scrap. I'm saving the engine, and took it out by unbolting and lowering onto the ground, then jacking up the car and rolling it backwards.
