How stupid is this? - Mike Hannon
Today we received an offer of 'Beautiful books for Christmas' from the Folio Society.
A reputable organisation I know. My brother-in-law was their accountant.
But on the outside back of the return envelope for the order form is a checklist of actions before posting.
1 - I have enclosed my completed order form.
2 - I have completed my credit card details.
Etc.
Maybe I'm paranoid but is that an invitation for 'interference' or what?

Well, as no-one seems to agree with me I'll put it down, once more, to being out of Britain and out of touch.

I agree with you.

I dont agree with you. The name and address is enough to provide clues about whats inside.

But your card details including security code all written down as well - and then their presence advertised on the envelope?

You think postmen don't know whats inside by where its going, a tick on the outside or not?

You shouldnt have to give the security code by the way when doing a paper based credit card transaction. Thats only for online or phone use.

Shouldn't have to?? You'd be daft to do that in a letter.
