|

|
"its local lingo.. midlander..."
Like "C(h)rissy/Crimble/Crimbo", you mean?
|
I am disappoint,
No Great Escape?
No James Bond?
No Trading Places? (Denholm Elliot - EGG NOG?)
|
8 is good. Bit like Flight of the Phoenix it seems to me - the original Elleston Trevor one, not the remake.
7 is good hokum, recent remake worth a peer.
6 is better than you think the first time around. The book is very attractive too, and looks like a storyboard for the film.
1 is good fun, although I'm always reminded of the Simpsons pastiche in the bank scene.
The others don't do it for me particularly but no doubt do for some.
I'd add A Christmas Story, the Raymond Briggs Father Christmas and pretty much any version of A Christmas Carol other than the Simm one.
|
My favourite is 9. Billy Bob Thornton was made for that role. and on again in a few minutes.
|
We were watching the Motorbike clips from the Great Escape this very afternoon. Casablanca for me !
|
Best Christmas Film = The Muppet Christmas Carol.
Best version ever. A cast entirely consisting of Muppets.
Nah! Seriously, the best one is "It's a Wonderful Life"
|
Love Actually anyone?
Started it last night but still go an hour or so to go.
|
That Portuguese bird is hot.
|
LĂșcia Moniz - and yes, very hot.
I love the film, I always watch it at Christmas. The one bit that annoys me is at the end when Jamie is speaking Portuguese to Aurelia and his grammar is quite reasonable - but the sub titles show it as awful for the laugh. Why didn't they make his spoken Portuguese awful too?

Always take the kids to the cinema on Xmas eve, gives Swmbo time to wrap presents, and me a couple of hours kip.... Tonight went to see Rise of the Guardians...... Very funny, never did get my kip,
Well worth seeing, even without kids, a Lorra Lorra laughs
