Whiskers ?
The Springer has had them since he was a pup in arms, the Cocker not.....why ?
Same reason there's polydactyly in Norfolk.
Generation after generation of inbreeding deformities as desirable characteristics.
My dog has no whiskers. But he does have a nose...
"How does he smell ?"would have bene the question otherwise.
Sorry been at next door's home made wine !
don't tell us..."terrible" ?
:-)
' How does he determine aromas ?'....kills that joke on the spot.

"there's polydactyly in Norfolk."
I've been up to Norfolk on many occasions, but I've yet to see a flying dinosaur that can talk.
That tends to suggest you've seen some that can't..

"That tends to suggest you've seen some that can't."
Well, maybe I did ...................... but I can't remember what they said.

Isn't Polydactyly in Wales?
>> that has two "L"s ...
and if correctly pronounced by a person with uneven teeth causes their interlocutor to flinch instinctively.
are they not silent L's like the silent H in haspirin....( frank randle) ...get off my foot

It's now called a university.

Do you mean water spaniels with eight webbed toes on each front paw Lygonos, or old twelve-fingered Jack from over by smurururur way, or even Jake the Peg from the Essex border?
My old Cocker had webbed toes (sort of 4x4) I'll got check and report on these..
>>My old Cocker had webbed toes
I believe that's called a 'frenulum'.
blimey my last frenulum wasnt a duck then?
I'm a Dog, and I've got whiskers.
Some women have whiskers.....not mine thankfully.
Ted
My previous Westies all had strong whiskers. Current Lakeland has none at all. Never considered it before.
You'll realize from my question that I know sod all about dogs, but do the ones that go down holes after their quarry have more use for whiskers?
Well, I thought that but the Springer and the Cocker are variations on the same specialized theme. Bit like a saloon and a coupe...

Taken by my wife a few weeks ago just before a mega storm, taken on an iPhone it has been cleaned up a little with some work done on the contrasts etc. But the sky was just like that as was the sea in the original.

Took me two goes to see the black dog. Friends Wrexham way have a similar neutered bitch a few months younger than yours.
The black 'un doesn't come out well in photos - seems to absorb light..
try finding them at night....
I know - many time I've sworn an oath to get a lighter one...at least you can see his eyes at the bottom of the back garden - spooky one night when two sets were reflected back...
My dog is white. well, at least he is supposed to be. About three times a week I manage to get him back to something like his natural colour at the moment.
I was chatting today to one of the old boys who lives on one of the narrowboats tied up on the canal behind us. His dog "Caspar" is white too. I do of course see why he called him that but before I knew the chap I thought he had tourette's when he was calling his dog back to the boat...

That's as good a one as you'll ever get of the black one - Taken with an iPad at some distance so grainy.
Lovely face on that hound.

The beach is a bit crowded?
Always the same this time of year. On the west coast of Anglesey looking towards the mainland - Ynys Llanddwyn. Island of Celtic/Welsh goddess of Luurrve.
It probably normally is busier Duncan but I expect it was just one of those days when everyone but the Englishman had been told that Dai the Farm had just had some new ewes delivered or maybe that there was a local sacrifice to attend.
I think you have got it right with you first option Humph.
Taff wouldn't pass up the chance of a new girlfriend, would he?
