 Lavender for Bees - Ambo
I have various unidentified lavender bushes in my garden and want to plant some more. Can anyone say what the best are, from a bee's point of view?

No but it's spot on. Thanks.

Any lavender will attract bees (although I'm not sure about the ones that are not blue). They're not fussy as long as they have easy access to pollen. What you could do is plant a couple of species that flower early and late in the season to prolong the flowering period and give them food for longer. I have an early flowering type that has quite a green foliage as opposed to grey, coupled with dark blue flowers and the contrast between the two is superb when planted in groups or as a hedge. It also seeds everywhere which is a bonus. I still don't know what type it is though!

CGNorwich has plenty of knowledge on this subject. He might know.
