Yesterday a bloke who does a bit of work here produced a plaited gold wedding ring which he had found trodden into the earth in the woodshed. It's mine, given to me some years ago by Herself but thought lost for the last two or three. I had looked for it everywhere especially in that woodshed but given it up for lost. Hooray!

Herself thought it inappropriate to offer the bloke more than a beer. He seemed to think that was about right too, and also seemed nearly as pleased as I was. It's not all doom and gloom.
