Good old Cruif.I grew up in the same time in the sixties. We played a team from Amsterdam youth side.Our team Technical School got wel beaten they where far ahead of us. He was the player, good turn the ball on a sixpence,he was wanted by the players to be the Dutch national coach.Johan was interested. RIP Can't believe he is dead two years older than me. That is a bit harsh Zero.Team spririt yes, Cruif could be a bully and the majority of the players where top notch.It has been a problem with the Dutch national team that there was always a lot of infighting. The top players wanted Cruif to be the Dutch national coach because they knew he could bind them into a top team.He refused maybe a step to far.No guts? Cruif used to be kicked to hell because of his skill.Asked Van Basten why he retired another top player kicked of the park..:) Reply to this message | Report message
