 What a Strange Case - Robin O'Reliant
Three "Sex Workers" who had been on bail for five years charged with running a brothel had their case thrown out after the chief investigating officer refused to give evidence "On health grounds", despite being in court. Apparently he and the prosecuting barrister had a "Frank discussion" before the trial commenced. I wonder what went on?

Guardian report is pretty thin gruel. Looks as though, whatever the strength of the prosecution case, the Judge has said enough - now or never. The suggestion of a 'change in policy' over tolerance of brothels raises probability of conflicts witihn the police force. The effect of those conflicts on health of an officer caught between rock and hard place might be at root.

Unless a more detailed account appears I don't see how we will learn much more.
