 Ice pilots - Dutchie
More of a interest of Fursty Ferret who is a pilot.I have been watching Canadian ice Pilots flying second world war planes for a small private company.

You have to admire the way these young pilots battle with these old planes and keep them in the air. They are hands on and are not scared to take on anything.

A series worth watching on Netflix.By the way, I enjoyed my flight in a glider want to do it again if time allows.

For the non-pilots amongst us I would like to recommend this book.

Skyfaring. A Journey with a Pilot by Mark Vanhoenacker

Currently two thirds through it and it really is fascinating insight into the job.

Thanks Norwich I will add it to the Christmas presents.

The jobs these lads do in Canada takes guts.No suits but hands on,also the mechanics who keep these old planes flying are top notch.

Another good book about flying is ' Fate is the Hunter' by Ernest K Gann......
