I have committed to provide my 96 yr old father a new PC, with conversion training in W10 over Xmas. The problem is that he spends a significant time on his existing XP machine playing Scrabble against the machine. I cannot find a decent standlalone Scrabble program that runs under W10!
The official W10 store version has been withdrawn (for compatability reasons?)
Scrabble3D has display problems and does not render a 15x15 Board correctlly.
Older XP versions (that I have tried) will not run- but there are many versions.
The Facebook on line version requires an oponent.
The Hasbro version runs the demo ok (c/o store.gamehouse) but will not accept registration and/or payment.
There appear to be some non USA copyright disagreements!
Anybody got better advice please, it is wasting my life away!

Just keep using the XP machine.
If you really must go W10, which is one hell of a learning curve from XP, install Classic Shell.
Sorry I know that's not much help!

Try using Dosbox 0.74, there's a lot of "Antique" games can be run successfully using it - presently one G/Child is playing the original version of "Settlers" under it, and that was an Amiga game! there's loads of old PC games that can use it aswell.

Manatee - thanks, QUACKLE looks promising, I will post when working ok!

I just tried Quackle. mighty impressive but it did use one American spelling which was annoying and I couldn't see anywhere to change it's dictionary (endeavor).

Classic Shell. A life saver!
