However, sometimes there is a real surprise.

Last week my wife had a call from an insurance company saying they were clearing up old files and was she Mrs Aretas? If so they had an unclaimed whole of life insurance policy of her father's. He died 30 years ago. Cheque arrived within 4 days.

I guess the executors messed up by not locating it at the time.
