Oh dearity me. I suppose they are quite lithe.
Thank you Western civilisation. I rather like the first comment though.

Brilliant piece of music that, but I'd not seen them do the dancing before. The choreography was a cross between Uncle Nobby after seven champagnes at the wedding, and the Thunderbirds. Amazing.
I shall have to look and see if they're still touring now.
Talking of dancers...

Oh my, oh my, oh my! ;-)
Quite like brass bands though. A work associate plays professionally and flies around the world to perform. It takes up a large chunk of his leave but pays for the yacht and watch that costs as much as my car!

Can never decide whether Morris dancing is a genuine old traditional pagan Druid Celtic prehistoric numinous wonder, or a load of old Victorian hokey-pokey. Probably the latter.
The only Morris dancing I ever did was that of rage when the blasted Minor let me down for the twenty eighth time on one journey in mid winter. It involved the police eventually too. Such larks.
Clogs, anyone? Such energy. It just goes on and on, much like this poster.

I think a lot of "traditions" are actually Victorian inventions, or pseudo-revivals dressed up .
Christmas
Tartans and assorted impedimenta

I've watched a good few of their ilk in my time, and in a previous life - and some at the Rushcart festival pictured here (Sister lived in Uppermill).
For real entertainment, sheer technical merit, and a little bit of danger, you can't beat rapper (sword) dancing, though........

Those first champion cloggers are gosh-darned good, Robin. The hillbilly one is a bit excruciating though!
