Does anyone sell on there?

Is bidding available or is it purely fixed price?

I buy on it.
Prices are fixed but if I think an article is overpriced and it's been for sale for over a week, I'll make an offer. Sometimes accepted..

There are some VERY good prices on it which I don't haggle on - real bargains..(I buy/have bought wood and insulation board for beekeeping at less than half price , a 2 year old Yuasa battery for £10 - for treating bees - and tools v cheap - and a 9 month printer for 1/3rd new price.).

Yes, I sell and buy on Gumtree more than on the well-known auction site (which coincidentally owns Gumtree). Advantages are a much quicker sale, often collection of items with payment in cash (so no selling fees), and the ability to easily order search results by distance.

Also, the G phone app works better for me than the eB one; it came in handy when clearing out my late parents' house. I listed the gas oven and fridge freezer for sale and had contact, collection and cash for both within 2 hours.

Sold my last car on Gumtree. I didn't know its value (9-year-old with 50K miles), so put it up with what I thought was an optimistic price to gauge reaction.
Got a call and they bought it!
Damn, should've asked for more.

I like Gumtree. I wanted a spare chest freezer for the garage. Got one 6 miles from home, £40 and he threw in a B&D Jigsaw and electric fly killer. House clearance after bereavement....just wanted everything gone !

I prefer Freecycle for freezers... they are free.:-)

I looked at Freecycle but no single chest freezers within miles of here at the time. We also have three or four local groups but no luck.

Probably half a dozen freezers the day after I handed me dosh over. It's a good clean one though.
